Back in late 2018, a friend of mine who is also into Model T's, gave me a body for a 1922-23 Sedan. Collectors call this type of sedan a "Center Door", as the doors are in the center of the body. It's really just a sedan.
My initial thoughts were: What am I going to do with this? Where am I going to keep it? And more so, how am I going to keep the other half from finding it?
I had decided after doing my first Model T, a 1924-25 touring basket case that took 14 years to complete, that I was not going to do a ground up build again. That plan was blown to Hades.
One afternoon, another friend with a truck and myself, went to where the "Center Door" lived at that time. Now I had seen the body prior to this probably 9 years earlier. But I didn't remember the condition of it. My memory was soon refreshed.
The above image shows just what the body looked like when I picked it up. The sheet metal was stored in an outside building. The only body pieces missing were the hood/hood shelves, radiator/radiator cover, firewall, fenders, splash aprons, and running boards.
This might be a problem. However, no one can ever say I'm not determined, or at least willing to jump head first into the unknown.
Some of the original wood isn't bad, but then again, some important pieces will need replacing. Time, elements, and critters have taken a toll. Just how much will have to be determined.
